Her Resident card under the European Directive is for 5 years and then she has to apply again for an extention but after that she wil be 5 years in UK and she will apply for the British Nationality and passport too, like your wife to sort out everything once and for all. The good thing is that once she has the Resident card under the directive she can also travel to other EU countries without the need of applying for a Shengen Visa, because a clever Greek in the same position like me 2 years ago took the Greek Goverment to EU parliament and court and a new order was given to all Goverments to accept the Resident card issued in UK and Ireland as they do for the other countries in the EU that they do not need Shegen Visa...... free travel as you know.

So what the hell waiting for 5 years while the Visa and Resident card are FREE.

Of course going back home my darling will use the Lovely Russian Passport......

My friend GG it is not only the personal friends who have shown unreasonable jealousy and feelings of envy but we do experience the same attitude wherever we go for any official business......

My guess is that these people obviouly are envious because they probably think that my wife has married a millionaire and not a poor pensioner..... or they think the pavements and streets in the UK are full of Gold.!

I don't know... I just gave up long time ago and now I act LIKE them.....anybody pisses me off by been difficult he gets a mouthfull.... except OVIR... as now are my friends....

Most likely the latter rather than the former. It's a common enough error among the great unwashed. The more intelligent foreigner, even if not widely travelled, knows that the west is far from being an economic migrant's paradise. I can vividly recall a good mate of mine showing me his holiday snaps of a part of LA which shall remain nameless. Rows and rows of tumbledown shacks, piles of rotting garbage and a general level of deprivation and squalor that would make any Russian apartment block look like a palace. All this, just a few miles from Hollywood!

As Hellen is away marrooned in some woods full of mosquitos and enjoy natural fresh air and wild life, taking photos to post here later... Wonderfull place and I enjoyed the scenery and also the tranquility of the place ... disturbed from time to time by the buzzing mosses..........but luckily I was not eaten by any of them. I guess they know if they bite me they will be poison........

The fire of course helped to keep them away......

Russia has some very beautiful spots and places to visit..... and I do my best now to get to visit as much as I can.

BTW Her Visa has been approved in 2 days and now waiting arrival of the ponny Express..... or Donkey Express as you may say!

Good News....

Ponny Express delivered very fast the Passport and everything is fine with her entry clearance visa........ now only thing we have to do is to booke her flight home.....

So better continue having fun while we are still in Russia before going home on the 8 July!
